Questions ISPs ask us
Do I need my own MikroTik router?
Yes. Spidlan Billing connects to your MikroTik and sets up the hotspot and PPPoE profiles it needs - you paste one line into the router and the rest is automatic.
Do I need a public IP or port forwarding?
No. Your router connects out over a built-in WireGuard tunnel, so it works behind CGNAT - common on most Kenyan internet lines.
How do my customers pay?
With an M-Pesa prompt on the WiFi login page, or with vouchers you sell. Either way they are connected automatically once payment is confirmed.
Where does the money go?
Straight to your own M-Pesa till, paybill or bank account - you choose it in Payment Settings.
What happens when a customer's time runs out?
They are disconnected automatically. Hotspot customers see the login page to buy again; PPPoE subscribers get a payment page and a reminder with their pay link.
Can I customise my WiFi login page?
Yes - pick a layout and colours, add your logo and welcome message, and preview it live before customers see it.
Can my staff use it without seeing everything?
Yes. Create roles with view or manage access per page, limit staff to certain routers and set their working hours.
Can I reach my routers when I'm away?
Yes. Add a WireGuard VPN for your laptop or phone and pick which of your routers it can reach - then open Winbox from anywhere.
How are SMS charged?
